The College of DuPage women’s basketball team hosted their first home game against Illinois Valley Community College on Nov. 13 at PEC Arena. This was the first game with their new head coach Kristin Ison.
COD started the first quarter with nine points, including three-pointers from Kaisje Pryor, Lexi Lopez and Saniyya Harvey. They would find a rhythm in the second quarter scoring 20 points and trailing Illinois Valley 32-38.
In the second half the Chaparrals rallied back with the help of strong defense and three three-pointers from Erin Brown and Aylin Lagunas to secure a 71-67 victory. This is the first win of the season for the Chaparrals.
COD will compete against Oakton College Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. at the PEC Arena.
