Concert season is starting strong in Chicago and Indie bands are hitting shows hard and heavy. If you are one to headbang or mope about mistakes made try putting one of the many indie artists taking the stage in Chicago. Phoneboy and their opener Inoha Sold out Lincoln Hall on May 30th, 2025 as part of Phoneboy’s Heartbreak Designer US tour.
Phoneboy is an indie band from New Jersey with four members: Wyn Barnum and Ricky Dana playing guitar and vocals, James Fusco on bass and Jordan Torres on keyboard. Their unique sound, reminiscent of Good Kid and Beach Bunny, along with their relatable lyrics about young love and heartbreak.
Inoha hails from San Antonio, Texas, with members lead singer Keanu Bicol, drummer Ricky Juarez, bassist Christian Young and lead guitarist Gavin Gonzalez. Inoha takes,heavy influence from 2000s indie rock. Add in their eccentric sound by creating lyrical earworms paired exquisitely with their breathtaking guitarwork.
Phoneboy’s setlist pulled from their latest album “Heartbreak Designer,” while Inoha played from “Chance to dance” and “Aloha Inoha.” The crowd was electric with 500 eager concert goers shoulder to shoulder, elbow to elbow, just waiting patiently for their favorite artist to start playing.
