The College of DuPage women’s basketball team competed against South Suburban College on Feb. 17 while celebrating sophomore night. Sophomores Kaisje Pryor and Cailey Salerno walked alongside their family members and were honored before the game. South Suburban made the sophomore celebration a tough battle, where College of DuPage lost 56-66.
The Chaparrals started strong in the first quarter, leading the Bulldogs 12-10. The second quarter started to shift however when the Bulldogs scored 18 points in the second quarter, making the Chaparrals trail 28-21.
Erin Brown and Ayaani Gusman helped close the gap in the third quarter trailing the opposing team 37-49. They rallied back in the fourth, being behind the Bulldogs by three points. South Suburban would close the contest and the Chaparrals lost 56-66. They finish the regular season with an 8-22 record.
