Music Monday: September Recap

We’ve covered a ton of music for The Courier’s first month back to school. With September coming to a close, we thought it would be nice to share our favorite music stories for the month.

  1. Colbie Caillat kicks off the MAC season: California crooner Colbie Caillat kicked off the fall season at College of DuPage’s arts center in late August. The pop sensation sang tracks from her upcoming album, “Gypsy Heart.”
  2. “X-Factor” winners Alex & Sierra open for Caillat: The Courier got an exclusive interview with Colbie Caillat’s openers, Alex & Sierra.
  3. Jhene Aiko’s unique voice sure to sell records: We reviewed “Souled Out,” a new R&B record from the very chill and unique Jhene Aiko.
  4. A contender for best album of the year: alt-J’s highly anticipated album, “This is All Yours,” made a very good impression with our reviewer.

And while we’re at it, don’t forget to listen to our fall playlist to listen to tracks mentioned in our September music stories along with newsroom favorites.
