Erin Brown: I started playing basketball in 3rd grade at McKinley Elementary, so I started a little bit late.
LG: You have had two amazing games recently with an amazing number of rebounds. Do you think rebounding is your greatest strength as a player?
EB: I think it’s one of the best strengths [to have] because it shows that you’re able to get the ball after a shot in any circumstance. I feel like rebounding is definitely needed, because it gives a lot of chances for second chance points and to also get the ball from the other team.
LG: What is your favorite part of playing for COD?
EB: My favorite part of playing for COD is that I like playing with my team. We’re a really good team. It’s just really fun. I like playing for a college team and playing with the girls that I’m on the team with now. It’s a lot of fun.
LG: What do you most want to achieve on and off the court?
EB: On the court, I just want to be the best teammate I can be for my team.Off the court, I just want to do good. All around, I just want to be great.
LG: How do you manage your athletic responsibilities with school and other activities?
EB: I just play my part and do what I have to do when it comes to basketball. Academically, I just keep up with my work. I try to keep up as best as I can managing both.
LG: Do you hope to continue playing basketball after COD?
EB: If the opportunity is there to play after College of DuPage, I would definitely take the opportunity to explore that.
LG: Do you enjoy any other sports?
EB: Honestly, no. I’ve never played any other sport but basketball. Basketball is the only sport I’m good at. I can’t do volleyball. I can’t do soccer. I can’t do anything else. I don’t know why. I’m just not that good at those sports.
LG: What are some of your favorite hobbies?
EB: I like to play video games a lot. I just started playing more often again, so I like playing a lot.
LG: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
EB: Japan has been on my mind lately. So, I’d like to go to Tokyo, Japan. I would love to go there.
LG: What one word best describes you?
EB: Energetic. I have a lot of energy sometimes and can just be crazy. So, that’s one word that describes me.
