College of DuPage opened for business in the fall of 1967. Just a month after the college’s opening, student journalists launched The Courier on Oct. 10, 1967. The Courier celebrates its 47th year in existence this week.

The top story? No surprise here: parking. Even when COD did not have a permanent campus in 1967, students and staff were already dealing with a lack of parking spaces and traffic jams.

The first issue also featured a photo spread of students lining up for registration, as pictured below.
