The COD women’s basketball team played nine games from Dec. 14 to Jan. 25, during the winter break. The Chaps entered the break with a 5-6 record.
Here are a summary of the results: On Dec. 14, the Chaps claimed a 87-53 win against Richard J. Daley College. On Dec. 16, COD beat Moraine Valley Community College 86-76. On Dec. 18, the Chap lost 54-82 to Oakton College. On Dec. 20, the Chaps fell again, with a 37-51 loss to Carl Sandburg College. On Jan. 11, COD picked up a 51-74 loss to Olive-Harvey College. On Jan. 14, the Chaps broke their losing streak with a 65-19 win against Harper College. On Jan. 18, the Chaps claimed a 87-14 win against Wilbur Wright College. On Jan. 23, COD continued its win streak with a 68-64 win against Bryant Stratton College. On Jan. 25, the Chaps closed their winter break with a 39-52 loss to Prairie State College.
The women’s team ended the winter break with an overall regular season win-loss record of 10-10. The Chaps were on the road facing off against Kankakee Community College and Joliet Junior College. On Jan. 28, COD suffered a saddening 50-59 loss against Kankakee but pulled themselves up on Jan. 30 with a 74-72 win against Joliet, leaving their record 11-11.
The Chaps’s next home game is on Feb. 4 against Rock Valley College at 5 p.m.
